Movie Academy at East Ridge is an after school program that encourages artistic expression and personal growth. The sponsor is Katrina Reno.

Meeting once a week after school, each group was challenged to create a storyboard and script, practice acting, film the script, and finally edit. 

The goal of this process was to create a movie that represents a certain theme.  This year, the students were assigned the task of representing the theme: Education Takes You There. 

“We had a total of four completed movies with the following titles:  Movie Education, Where Will You Be?, 1, 7, & Whack, and Bites the Dust. 

These movies won in the following categories:

-     Best Theme:  Where Will You Be?

-     Most Creative:  1, 7, & Whack

-     Best Overall:  Bites the Dust

-     Hardest Working:  Movie Education
